The Nanjing Massacre was a mass murder and mass ra.pe commited by the Imperial Japanese troops in Nanjing, China during the Second Sino-Japanese War. This took place over a period of six weeks starting in December 1937. It is unclear how many people were killed, although approximations usually place the number around 200,000 and 300,000 people.
